Through the pandemic, events changed drastically. We had to adapt and find new ways for our community to connect. The virtual events we produced not only sufficed, but truly went above and beyond fulfilling the need for connection.
In conjunction with the launch of KCRW’s podcast “Lost Notes” back in 2020, the KCRW community of DJs and music fans congregated virtually to reminisce on the albums that saved our teenage years. The vibe was evocative of the feeling you get hanging out in your friends bedroom growing up, listening to records.

While trying to distract audiences from the heavy reality of a newly enforced quarantine, KCRW hosted a sketch comedy Zoom event to disconnect from the doom scroll, and engage with improv.

Being an aspiring young artist can be difficult, especially since there’s so much insider baseball in the art world that can be immensely intimidating. As a part of KCRW’s Young Creators Project, KCRW provided opportunities for young artists to connect with industry professionals, including career artists, professors, gallery owners, etc to get real-world advice on how to start their careers in the arts.
